My trip to China covered all these things on my list.
- Get a stamp in my passport
- Go to an Olympic event
- Keep a travel journal
- Spend more than 14 days out of the country in one go
- Use an overnight train
We were away for three weeks and our first journey was on an over night train, On entry to all the countries we visited we had our passports stamped. When we got to Beijing we managed to get tickets to the canoe/ kayak event and over the whole period i kept a travel journal of what we did.

I’m jealous that you got to go to China AND witness an Olympic event! It seems to be an (almost) once-in-a-lifetime experience

Which parts of China did you go to and when? I’m pretty jealous that you got to see an Olympic event in China too! Must’ve been a great 3 weeks you spent there!

How very cool! I love that you have a list of goals you want to complete!
The passport one is probably my favorite. I’d be collecting those passport stamps just like I collected stickers as a kid! LOL!

That sounds super awesome! I would love to travel more some day. To accomplish that much in one trip is fantabulous! Olympics. Wow.
I love over-night trains. I think I’ve been on one once when I was going to Colorado with my family. We got a coach section to ourselves. It was very fun.
An active trip, too! I’m envious!

While we were in china we went to xi’an, Beijing and Tianjin. The over night trains were good but five days on a train with people in a small space and nowhere to wash got a bit interesting towards the end. I loved every second I was away but was glad to come home. Feel free to find me on flickr and look at my pictures.
